Lisbon

This has to be the most cosmopolitan area of Portugal and offers a huge selection both on and off the golf course. The courses in this area are not overpriced and everything here is excellent value for money. The Lisbon Coast stretches from the beautiful fishing village of Sesimbra up to the lively town of Cascais and can be found 15 miles west of Lisbon city centre.

A 45 minute drive from Lisbon airport is the resort town of Cascais. There are many great golf courses in this area, Oitavos and Quinta da Marinha to name but a few, and with Lisbon city centre easily reached by train there is an abundance of things to do other than play golf. Lisbon is a perfect place to shop at the designer boutiques, sample the catch of the day at one of the many fabulous fish restaurants or simply wander these wonderful streets. By night the streets come alive with many bars and restaurants and a visit to the Docas is a must for the party animal in you.

The Costs Azul, South of Lisbon, is very Portuguese and English is not widely spoken. When visiting this part of Portugal you really do feel that you are in unspoilt territory which adds to the holiday feel. Sesimbra is the quaint fishing village here and is the popular base for golfers wanting to play at Quinta do Peru and Aroeira. The choice of courses in this area is outstanding and we highly recommend the 45 min drive to the fantastic Ribagolfe complex. Here you can play 2 high-class championship standard courses at a great price.

North of Lisbon, along the silver coast is the magnificent Praia del Rey golf resort. This is close by to the medieval town of Obidos and is an enchanting place to visit. The castle here is the main attraction but the churches are rich with culture too.
